I tend to like things that are not too repititous, and the theme of this song-differing points of view- allows an excuse to keep changing things. Interesting how the same melody can affect different people so differently. And then between what one says, and another hears, there often lies an ocean.
lyrics
THE COMPOSER: A whole world is out there, within me, I feel it. I can't describe it, except to conceal it. Wrapping this burning, in songs of yearning.
THE RECIPIENT: So absurd, messages in melodies, not words. Heavy notes fall to the ground unheard. I pick them up, struggling, I haul them to the ledge, past the hedge and to the world's edge.
THE COMPOSER: I heed the voice that sings within, I have no choice. My sense of reality, far from what this world can see and touch. Keep the summer door ajar, bringing close your world, so far before.
THE DREAMER: Taking your hand by the water, all the world is left far behind as we're stepping someplace new. Picking pockets of the past, taking the spoils into summer. Moving through the shimmering of now. And the world we make is real somehow.
THE COMPOSER: You swim in safety, I stand at the boundary, hoping to free you, straining to see you. A difficult entrance, through doors of indifference.

Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock
Billed as the masters of symphonic prog this album is an interesting of styles and influences. Folky in parts, rocky in others.
Vocals are good and male for a change. Both lyrics and music are involving and all in all this album is a good listen.
I will be looking at The Gift's other offerings. Russell Whyman
This is a 5-star album. Thanks for such wonderful music. "If it all comes down to you" is my fav and one of the best songs I've ever listened to. juan_andres
